Job Description COMMANDER NAVAL AIR FORCES ATLANTIC (CNAL) ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL (O-LEVEL) MAINTENANCE SUPPORT NAS KEY WEST STATION SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) KEY WEST, FL Aircraft Mechanics II must have experience in repairing engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train, and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty to meet mission requirements. They provide input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD), and assist in recommending changes to Maintenance Work Orders (MWO). The role requires prioritizing workloads and leading teams through complex aircraft tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and I. They maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical parts. They interpret technical documentation such as blueprints and manuals to troubleshoot and restore equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical components, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement. Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications, basic electrical theory, and familiarity with aircraft tools and test equipment is required. The role may require specialization in areas such as sheet-metal, electric work, or avionics. Active secret clearance is required.
