Position: Chaplain - Resident. Location: Elmhurst Hospital - Elmhurst, IL. Full Time | 40 hours/week. Hours: Monday-Friday with alternating Sundays. Reporting to the Manager of Spiritual Care in collaboration with the ACPE Educator, provides spiritual, emotional, religious, and advance care planning support to patients, families, and staff. Develops the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population served, including knowledge of physical, psychological, emotional, and relevant life stage needs. Delivers timely, person-centered spiritual/religious/emotional care including crisis response, prayer, end of life care, sacramental resources, grief support, ethical concerns, advance care planning, and interdisciplinary care. Engages in spiritual assessment, develops and implements care plans, manages multiple requests, partners with community clergy, collaborates in goals of care meetings, promotes patient safety, identifies medical ethics issues, engages in rounding, partners with interdisciplinary staff, assists with Advance Care Planning and documentation, participates in departmental and hospital activities, adheres to ethics and safety standards, maintains collaborative relationships, and supports departmental programs. Requires light physical effort and involves part normal and part concentrated attention.
