Position: EROS Assistant Director

Hours: 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: $19.82/hr (effective July 1, 2025)

Tentative Interview Dates: Beginning the end of May through Mid-June

Required In-Person Onboarding: August 5th & 6th

Required Attendance for Training: August 11th through 15th

About Educational & Referral Organizational For Sexuality (EROS):

EROS is dedicated to promoting a healthy and respectful understanding of sexuality and gender through judgment-free peer education. Inclusive of all identities, backgrounds, and types of sexuality, EROS provides contemporary sexuality education through events, workshops, social media, performances, books, DVDs, and a referral database. EROS connects the campus community by providing presentations and information to students, classes, and organizations. It also connects the greater San Francisco community by referring students to off-campus resources and collaborating with off-campus organizations for events. EROS introduces new students to its program with an annual open house and inspires students to pursue sexuality in their professional lives through the annual Career Fair. Job Summary:

The Assistant Director works closely with the Director to manage and oversee the EROS program, helping to coordinate events that promote diversity, inclusivity, and responsible sexuality. The role includes organizing at least three events each semester, such as the Annual Careers in Sex Symposium. Responsibilities also include maintaining the program's book/DVD inventory and loan system, coordinating volunteers, and assisting with other tasks as assigned by the Director.

Job Description:

• Assist the Director in implementing and overseeing the operation of EROS.
• Coordinate events that promote diversity, tolerance, and responsibility towards sexuality.
• Organize a minimum of 3 EROS-sponsored events per semester, including the Annual Careers in Sex Symposium.
• Maintain the book/DVD inventory and loan/checkout system.
• Coordinate volunteers for the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

• Current student at San Francisco State University taking at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates.
• Previous volunteer work in EROS is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in event planning, program coordination, or student engagement.
• Experience managing volunteers or student groups.
• Knowledge of sexual health, diversity, and inclusion topics.
• Proficiency in maintaining inventory and tracking systems.
• Preferred coursework in Human Sexuality, Health Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Women’s and Gender Studies, or related fields.
