About the Role:

The Service Technician - Refrigeration plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of refrigeration systems across various lab equipment (NOT HVAC). This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration lab appliances/equipment to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards. The technician will work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance system efficiency. Additionally, the role requires staying updated with the latest technologies and industry best practices to deliver high-quality service. Ultimately, the technician's efforts contribute to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in refrigeration / Licenced by the state
  • Proven experience as a refrigeration technician or similar role.
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with appliance refrigeration systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic/appliance diagnostic tools and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems in laboratory appliances/equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with refrigeration components of appliances/equipment (NO HVAC), including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
  • Install new refrigeration systems and components to laboratory appliances/equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding service needs and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed, parts used, and customer interactions for future reference as per GMP standards.

The required skills for this position include strong problem-solving abilities, which are essential for diagnosing and resolving issues with appliance refrigeration systems efficiently. Technical proficiency in refrigeration systems allows the technician to perform repairs and maintenance effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to clients' operations.
